Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 15 years of relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree in computer science, physics or related STEM discipline plus 12 years of relevant experience (as defined above), OR
PhD in computer science, physics or related STEM discipline plus 10 years relevant experience (as defined above).
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performance teams of scientists or technical staff for scientific computing, including search and selection, development, and mentorship
Experience in computing capacity planning, scheduling, and seamless integration of resources
Familiarity with the latest technology and best practices for building and supporting HTC and HPC with an interest in staying abreast of technology shifts
A track record of demonstrated organizational, managerial and leadership skills in the context of a major scientific or technical project
Experience managing a complex, multi-disciplinary computing facility or technical services supporting scientists and researchers
Ability to manage technical and business support requirements while proactively developing new growth opportunities for the facility
Ability to participate in scientific discussions, including strategic and planning sessions
Strong demonstrated skills in oral, written, and interpersonal skills across a wide range of technical, scientific, and support staff in an international and multicultural organization
Demonstrated commitment to practices that foster a progressive and inclusive DEIA culture
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
An advanced degree in computer science, physics or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline
Experience supporting large-scale scientific user facilities, including broad understanding of the requirements for various science collaborations, especially the large international collaboration in nuclear and particle physics
Demonstrated record of national and international recognition in scientific computing or related areas
In-depth knowledge of efficient, modern system HTC/HPC system administration with emphasis on big data management
Experience working with leading computing enterprises in industry
